The great big stitched postcard swap

All kinds of creative people from all over the world will be stitching and glueing and drawing and printing and doing all sorts of exciting things to make their very own special postcard for The Great Big Stitched Postcard Swap. They will send their cards to their given swap partner, and then, hopefully, they will receive a lovely postcard from somewhere else in the world. There will be a postcard swap fickr group, showcasing all the postcards. What a lovely way to connect with other creative people from all over the world. This swap is running for the fourth time now, this time with theme "BLOOM".

Oat Biscuits

These are John's favorite oat biscuits:

And this is how you make them:

Preheat your oven to 180° C.

Put
75g (3 oz) self raising flour
75g (3 oz) porridge oats
75g (3 oz) sugar  in a bowl and mix well.

Melt
75g (3 oz) salted butter (or butter + a pinch of salt)
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1 tablespoon milk in a saucepan over low heat.  Add the premixed dry ingredients and mix until well combined. Spoon 15 - 20 heaps onto a baking tray lined with baking parchment.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Leave to cool for 5 minutes before removing from tray.

All very quick, very simple & very delicious. Enjoy.

The Bluebells are out!

So we went for a walk, an expedition, an adventure - with Johanna in the backpack. We we went up the hill and through the woods to a place I have never been before, a place where we thought we might find lots of bluebells, a place called Riding Woods.

And we did. We found lots and lots of bluebells.

And we found the entrance to a coal mine

that looked a bit like a hobbit prison.

And we found a swing

that looked very adventurous.

And we found nice little tracks through the woods

and lovely little dry stone walls.

[Bluebells are called Atlantisches Hasenglockchen in German.]

More beautiful bluebell pictures and a lovely post on Rona Wheeldon's blog Flowerona here.
