Home tour vs. studio tour

I just watched Sarah Jessica Parker giving an interview/mini home tour for Vogue in one take, which reminded me of the studio/home tour video we did a while ago. The single take studio tour starts at 3:30.

Yorkshire, you have been particularily beautiful today, with that fine coat of snow, covering your hills, crowned with colourful skies.

The Bluebells are out!

So we went for a walk, an expedition, an adventure - with Johanna in the backpack. We we went up the hill and through the woods to a place I have never been before, a place where we thought we might find lots of bluebells, a place called Riding Woods.


And we did. We found lots and lots of bluebells.



And we found the entrance to a coal mine


that looked a bit like a hobbit prison.

And we found a swing



that looked very adventurous.


And we found nice little tracks through the woods


and lovely little dry stone walls.

The Mysterious Tree and Buttercup Meadows

There is a huge tree in the Possible Garden and for weeks we did not know what it was. Now, finally, the leaves came out and we were able to identify it.



Apperantly it is a Robinia pseudoacacia also known as Locust Tree.

The German name is Silberregen, literary translated silver rain. In a few weeks time it shall be in blossom and we shall see why.

At the moment it's got very bright green young leaves that looked amazing against the clear blue Yorkshire skyes yesterday, so John took this picture.

It's been sunny and hot and we've done a short trip to the garden, only to find that we do not have to water the plants as the snails have already eaten most of them.



On the way back to the studio we passed meadows that were blazing yellow.

Storthes Hall

Letztes Wochenende war es richtig schön warm und wir sind rausgefahren, nach Storthes Hall, wo ich vor drei Jahren gewohnt habe, um ein bischen spazieren zu gehen und die Sonne zu genießen.
Das hier ist das einzige Gebäude, das noch steht, auf dem Gelände der Nervenheilanstalt, die 1991 stillgelegt wurde. Ringsum ein Trümmerfeld.
Das Studentenwohnheim Storthes Hall Park Student Village ist etwas weiter unten, praktisch mitten im Wald. Mit dem Bus 20 Minuten von der Uni, der Stadt und der Zivilisation entfernt.
